Susan Orlean “Adaptation” adaptation

Being an avid photoshop junkie, I’ve had the pleasure of crafting images and placing randomly selected people into some very interesting situations.

It doesn’t get any less bizarre when I turn to photoshop self-portraits and I have made some pretty creepy depictions of myself. (e.g. my uber-wacky twitter avatar, some, ridiculous whimsy, and a Hunter S. Thompson tribute – to link a few)

One such portrait was inspired by a film I count amongst my all-time favorites. The movie poster for Adaptation is not only a gorgeous metaphor but it’s also visually striking.

One day, I randomly tweeted this image to the author who’s book The Orchid Thief inspired the screenplay and she liked it! Always the happy photoshopper, especially for someone I admire – I offered to cook up a unique one of these especially for her!

Hope you like it Susie Q!
